Biography of Mr. Nasser BOURITA, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates.

Mr. Nasser BOURITA was designated by His Majesty the King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him, as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, on April 5th, 2017.

His Majesty the King renewed His trust in the Minister on October 9th, 2019 by appointing him Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates.

Education

Born in 1969 in Taounate, Mr. Nasser BOURITA is an alumnus of the Faculty of Law, Economics, and Humanities of Rabat, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Law in 1991. In 1993, Mr. BOURITA earned a Certificate of Higher Studies in International Relations, followed by a Master’s degree in International Public Law in 1995.

Career

A diplomat by career, Mr. BOURITA has climbed all the ranks of the diplomatic function. Following years of service within the ministry in Rabat, he served in the Moroccan embassies in Brussels and Vienna.

He has evolved in many key positions within the ministry, from the head of United Nations Main Organs Unit, to head of United Nations Division (2003-2006) and then director of United Nations an International Organizations (2006-2009). Mr. BOURITA respectively occupied the positions of head of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Cabinet, Ambassador, general director of Multilateral Relations and Global Cooperation. In 2011, he was named secretary-general of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, a position he assumed until his appointment on February the 6th by His Majesty the King, May God Assist Him, as a delegate minister to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Mr. BOURITA is married and a father of two.
