Mrs Nezha El Ouafi, Minister Delegate in charge of Moroccans Residing Abroad, and Mr. Karim Amor, President of the thirteenth region (MeM by CGEM), chaired a Working session devoted to the implementation of the National Strategy in favor of Moroccan expatriates, which is an ambitious vision to keep pace with Moroccan expatriates investors in order to strengthen their integration into national and regional development programs. The first twelve (12) beneficiaries of the Maghrib Belgium Impulse project MBI “post-creation” took part in this meeting.
Noting that the Maghrib Belgium Impulse (MBI) is a project implemented by the Ministry Delegate in charge of Moroccans residing abroad with the technical and financial support of the Belgian Development Agency, Enabel, and in partnership with the CGEM in the framework of its 13th region MeM by CGEM. This project aims to mobilise the economic skills of Moroccans residing in Belgium to invest in their country of origin and accompany them through a programme that meets their needs for guidance and support by experts in full coordination with the CGEM and the national institutions concerned.
Practically, It consists on 12 newly created projects, out of 40 projects, in priority areas at the national level, such as ecological valorisation; artificial intelligence and health fields, in particular the project for the sterilisation of medical devices which is the first industrial unit in Morocco in this field of activity, as well as the projects for the rehabilitation of companies and human resources, and the promotion of investment potential in Morocco.
The meeting is also in line with the Ministry’s programme to encourage Moroccan expatriates investments and to accelerate its implementation, with the aim of mitigating the economic and social impacts of the Covid 19 pandemic at the national level, and within the framework of the implementation of the action plan drawn up in partnership with the “13th region” which aims to support and promote Moroccan investors and economic skills residing abroad and to mobilise them to participate in the economic recovery plan of the kingdom, launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God bless him, at both national and regional level.
