MONDAY 23 NOVEMBER 2020Malawi commended, today, November 23rd, the “peaceful” and “decisive” action taken by the Kingdom of Morocco to ensure free civil and commercial movement at the border post of El Guergarat.
“The Government of Malawi fully supports free movement of commercial and civil traffic in the important corridor of El Guergarat”, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement, issued today, November 23rd.
Malawi also affirmed “that it aligns itself with the United Nations position in finding a lasting, political and diplomatic solution to the issue of the Moroccan Sahara”. It also acknowledges “the peaceful efforts initiated by the Kingdom in bringing about a peaceful and durable solution under the UN support, as explicitly stated in the resolutions of the Security Council”.
