Mrs. Nezha El Ouafi, Delegate Minister in Charge of Moroccans Living abroad received earlier today at the Ministry’s headquarter a delegation of the UNICEF headed by Mrs. Giovanna Barberis.
In this meeting, the delegate minister has pointed out the distinguished governmental approach to implement the national strategy for Migration and asylum, in accordance with the high royal instructions. She also highlighted the procedures that the government took to accompany migrants in Morocco, notably the vulnerable, during this crucial period affected by the COVID 19 pandemic repercussions.
The delegate minister has also stressed the importance of the human-rights based approach, including child rights, regarding any actions towards the migrant children and the necessity to maintain these programs in such a way that reinforces its contribution to effective integration of this category.
Mrs. Giovanna Barberis, the representative of the UNICEF in Morocco informed the Moroccan party about the preparation of a new phase of the cooperation project adopting a participative and integrated approach, with the participation of all the concerned national institutions, while reinforcing the existing assets in what regard the integration of migrant children in the educational system and their preparation for professional life. At the end of this meeting, both parties decided to continue and accelerate their cooperation so as to ensure a smooth and successful integration of migrant children into the Moroccan society.
