As part of the celebration of National Immigrant Day, commemorated on August 10 each year, and the various annual activities organized by the Ministry in favor of Moroccans expatriates, and in order to continue to improve public services for them, the Ministry Delegate in charge of Moroccans Residing Abroad organizes on August 5 and 6, 2020, the digital version of the Summer University, in favor of young Moroccans Residing Abroad.
Given the exceptional health situation caused by the “Covid-19” pandemic, which is raging in Morocco and around the world, the Ministry is organizing this year’s Summer University in a digital format.
This summer university aims to diversify the cultural offer intended for Moroccans residing abroad and meet their needs and expectations in this area and especially towards the younger generation, thus consolidating ties with their country of origin, and with its different cultural components and supporting them to cope with the various constraints and identity challenges they are facing in their countries of residence.
The digital version of the Summer University, which will take place over two days, will be attended by young Moroccans, aged 18 to 25 years, from several countries of residence, namely : France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, China, Tunisia, Algeria. This annual meeting will allow young Moroccan expatriates to benefit from intellectual seminars broadcasted live and supervised by experts specialized in the field. These seminars will focus on the repercussions of the Covid-19 crisis on the national economy, as well as on the various issues related to the notion of belonging among the younger generations of Moroccan expatriates, in the light of the current economic situation.
Finally, a creative artistic work is included in the program. It will be presented at the end of the summer university.
